The Master Gunsmith Carl Pippert

This special order long rifle was made for John Saville in 1975 by Carl Pippert. Carl was one of the founding fathers of the Kentucky Rifle Association. He was a mentor to two particular gunsmiths featured on this site, George Stanford and Rudy Bahr. Carl had total access to the Kindig collection. He helped Joe Kindig do gun restoration work when needed. The overall length of this rifle is 62 inches, the octagon barrel measures 46 1/2 inches, the length of pull is 14 inches and the weight is 8 pounds. This rifle is in 45 caliber.
