This is a very unusual Ballard Pacific #5. The re-chambering is for the 38-56 bottleneck case based on the 45-70. It a Winchester produced chamber for the lever action rifles, making it unusual for a Ballard rifle. The sights on it are Rocky Mountain sights which include a German silver blade front sight and a open rear barrel sight. The author Ned Roberts and his family praised the Pacific Ballard as the best rifle they ever owned. The barrel length is 30 inches, LOP is 13 1/2 inches, and the weight is 9 pounds.
