This double action revolver as all Merwin and Hulbert revolvers exhibit fine craftmanship and precision machining. This model has the improved top strap as well as the patented hammer spur. Approximate date of manufacture 1885. Among other interesting features was the ability to eject cases. This was accomplished by the cylinder sliding far enough on the cylinder pin to allow fired cases to drop between the cylinder and the recoil shield.
