Beautiful 1st Model Maynard with "Maynard Set" Trigger. This would have been the 2A "Sporting" Model, mainly because the absence of the ring and staple on the trigger bar commonly seen on the military model. The 26 inch barrel cost an additional $1.50 and the Double Set Trigger feature was an additional $5.00. It appears to be .35 Caliber. Maynard was one of the first, if not the first, to use brass cartridge cases in a percussion gun. Immensely popular in it's day with a majority of the 1st Model Maynards fighting for the Confederacy during the Civil War.
