1873 Maynard "Long Range" Creedmoor in .44-100 Maynard with accessories. .44 Caliber 32 inch tapered round barrel with Marlin Windgauge, Spirit Level front sight. The Creedmoor Shotgun Butt and Pistol Grip on the lever are clearly shown. Also included in the gallery is an 1878/79 flyer that describes the accomplishments of Prof. Charles E. Dwight of Wheeling, W.V. in competing for a position on the 1878 American Team. It is difficult to see in the flyer - but his last thirty-nine shots were bulls-eyes - 9 at 800 yards, 15 at 900 yards, and 15 at 1,000 yards. Also included is a Silver Medal awarded to Maynard Arms Company by the Massachusetts Charitable Mechanics Association in 1860. The Mid-Range Sight case is a reproduction I made from an example in the Maynard Schuetzen Display in the Winchester Museum, Cody, Wyoming.

I'm (almost) speechless!!! I have the same firearm... in similar condition, minus the pistol grip and spirit level. Which i suspect someone spirited away! I've never managed to track another down... glad to see this on here. I have a 40-70 with some of the tools and a shotgun barrel for same with a .32 long colt insert barrel. Never shot the shotgun... everything else shoots well!

I would love to own one. I'm disappointed that there are not (yet) working replicas made by Pedersoli, or similar reproduction rifle manufacturing companies. I'm sure there would be a large demand by antique rifle enthusiasts like me.
