WILLIAM BRAZIER 1720's EARLY FLINT LOCK PISTOL
Caliber: 58-60 Smootbore; Barrel Length: 9" and has a beautiful Damascus pattern. The lock is of the very early type that does not have a frizzen bridle. All parts apear to be original and in fine shape. The stock appears to be made of English Walnut, no visible wear showing. It has fine but simple carving. The brass furniture shows nice engraving and perfect inletting. The thimbles are cast and in a very early stlying. The tapered wooden ramrod appears to be original. Iron end piece about 1.5 inches in length with integral worm at tip.

This gunsmith, William Brazier, began his apprenticeship in 1702, and worked in the London area. He is recorded to have had 28,844 guns proved at the London Proof House between 1721-1731.
