Bill's New Project: This is a 4-bore ( 1.00" bore, 4" brass cartridge case with proper load yet to be determined)external hammer side by side double rifle. The locks are rebounding back action, hammer fired. The lock-up is with the Jones under-lever which has an interrupted screw thread that gives a secure fastening with a 1/4 turn of the lever. This provides two locking surfaces in addition to a third fastener called a "dolls head" which is visible at the top of the action body on the rear of the barrel assembly. The current rifle photographs lack the barrel ribs and the pistol grip cap. Bill has installed the ribs. After the grip cap is made and installed Bill will begin the polishing, checkering and finishing. And then we'll have pictures of the completed double rifle to complete the gallery.
