Caitlin has completed her prestigious Presidential Management Fellow and was today sworn in at a formal ceremony in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the U.S. State Department. She is working in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research as an analyst assigned to monitor public opinion toward the U.S in South and Central Asia. This includes the countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. She will be visiting the U.S. Embassies in several of those countries in the coming months.

The ceremony was held in Diplomatic Reception Rooms on the eighth floor of U.S. Department of State and we had the good fortune to be able to leisurely walk through them following the ceremony. These rooms contain more than 5,000 masterpieces of fine and decorative arts valued at over $100 million from the founding period of the United States, 1740-1840. The rare objects include silver by Paul Revere; china belonging to George Washington and James and Dolley Madison; heirloom side chairs owned by Francis Scott Key; Thomas Jefferson’s desk and the original Treaty of Paris, signed on September 3, 1783, which formally ended the American Revolutionary War.
