TiO2 Polymorphs

Titanium dioxide occurs in nature in three different polymorphs: rutile, brookite and anatase. Rutile is tetragonal and often exhibits fascinating twinning, including cyclic sixlings and eightlings. Anatase is also tetragonal, forming bipyramidal crystals. Brookite is orthorhombic and occurs in bladed crystals.
