This is the only complete lizard in Cretaceous amber that I am aware of. It is at least five times as old as the recently described group of anoles in Miocene Dominican amber (Sherratt et al. 2015).
A fragment (tail and right hind foot) of a lizard, Baabdasaurus, has been described from Lebanese Cretaceous amber and the foot of a gecko (Cretaceogekko burmae) has been reported from Burmese amber (Arnold & Poinar 2008). I have since seen other fragments offered for sale.
Daza et al. (2016) have now published several new specimens, including one tiny complete individual (an early chameleon) about a third of the length of the one shown here, and some partial stem squamates similar to the individual illustrated here.
