Moresnetia zalesskyi. Late Devonian. Dinant, Belgium. The earliest seed plant. 15 cm slab with seed-bearing cupules to 10 mm.

See Olive et al. (2015), http://popups.ulg.ac.be/1374-8505/index.php?id=4961&file=1&pid=4960

"The Moresnetia-type is characterized by a four-unit cupule, formed by two successive cruciate dichotomous divisions (Prestianni, 2005; Prestianni & Gerrienne, 2010). The cupule defines a well circumscribed where one to four seeds (exceptionally six) are found. The hydrasperman megasporangium is surrounded by several variably fused integumentary lobes."
