Fossils from the Californian Tar Seeps

Natural seeps in California trapped a great diversity and abundance of Ice Age creatures. La Brea is the most famous site (I visited in April 2012). The Pleistocene fossils shown here come from the McKittrick Tar Seep. There's a giant water bug, a dragonfly with incredibly fine preservation of eyes, a rodent skull and some wood.
