Mesa Verde is one of the rare national parks established based primarily upon cultural heritage (of Puebloan Indians) rather than its natural landscape. Visiting the park in the winter left me with a lasting impression on how Puebloan people used their ingenuity to build cliff-hanging dwellings in order to survive in such desolated (yet beautiful) landscape.
