Diffraction testing the S95 and the 40D (w/ Sigma 18-50 EX).

This is real pixel peeping but if you look at a specific book title (eg Key West Images of the Past) as you compare each shot, you will see a clear degradation of the image as each camera approaches it's highest f-stop values.

The good news is that both perform quite well wide open.
