Day 1 (Amsterdam)

On day 1, Sunday, we arrived in Amsterdam at around 7:00 a.m. with a serious case of jet lag. We wandered a bit through the city without much direction but ended up back at the hotel fairly early (after visiting a few coffeeshops and purchasing our week's ration of Dutch chocolate and aged gouda).

 The church tower served double duty as a direction marker (due east of the hotel).

 Early morning in Dam Square (appx. 7:30 a.m.) on the way from the train station to the hotel. This was one of the few days of no rain.
