The dramatic and "unreal" stone forest stands in Yunnan Province, about 120kms from Kumming, the capital. Known since the MING Dinasty as WONDER OF THE WORLD it covers an area of 400km2, including the maggior and minor stone forest. Entering the site I felt like ALICE in the Disney Wonder World, with thousands of natural stone masterpieces with pointed fairy-like figures rising from everywhere. The magical place is considered by geologists as an example of KARSTS topography, due to constant erosion by elements, developed throuout the ages until the present time.
