A cenotaph is a pavilion on which a deceased Rajput ruler's body was cremated. They are a common sight throughout Rajasthan. Some contain steles with carved reliefs depicting the deceased ruler, sometimes accompanied by carved feminine images commemorating wives who committed /i>, the practice of throwing one's self on her husband's funeral pyre.
