The Jantar Mantar, an astrological observatory built between 1728 and 1733, is located within the City Palace complex. It consists of a number of large instruments used to refine observations and calculationson the orbits of the planets. You can see the shadow of this enormous sundial, marking the local time, along the graduated white marble arc.
