Adinkra cloths were originally worn to funerals and to other important occasions by Ghanaian royalty. Today they are worn by anyone to any special occasion, such as the Ashanti King's celebration. Printing is done with carved printing blocks or by screening. Adinkra symbols are also printed on fabric for other uses and appear frequently in many other applications.
