Female cardinal. I particularly like the females because they seem fairly shy, and the males get all the attention with their vivid colors. The female is pretty in a more subdued way. I think it's really cute how cardinals are always in pairs, they seem quite loyal to each other. This one is sitting on top of a covered deer/squirrel feeder and has just cracked open a sunflower seed. The discarded shell can be seen sticking up out of the snow in the lower left corner.
