This was a trip led by Louie Tran of the Minnesota Rovers. We had a small group of four people and a dog. Because of the wildfires in the BWCA, there was a complete fire ban. We weren't anywhere close to the fires. The weather was forecast to be chilly and rainy, which was good for the wildfire situation. However, it turned out to be colder than predicted, and not being able to have a campfire made conditions less than ideal. Our initial entry point was closed and we had to wait until Sunday to take off. That made for a quick overnight trip, but we were still able to get a taste of the BWCA experience. Although I have been camping and canoeing many times before, I had never done both together. This was my first trip to the BWCA and it was really good to have someone with alot of knowledge about it leading the way. I would definitely go back in nicer weather, so I look forward to my next trip.
