Many suburban stations were designated points for people travelling to certain Games events EG: Fairfield(bowls), Lilydale(shooting), Glen Waverley(biking ?)These stations were given bright yellow signs...however... the yellow 'Games' signs were made out of flimsy corrugated plastic, and were just tied to the light posts...the next day was windy, so they all bent with the wind at right angles to the posts, making them almost unreadable. Cheap and (literally) flimsy.
