This past Saturday I bought an old zoom lens for $5. The name is CPC Phase 2, and a 28-50mm f3.5-4.5. Don't blame you if you have never heard of CPC Phase 2. That's part of the reason why it's only $5.
I have decided to give myself a challenge and see what kind of pictures I can get with this lens for one week. During the current week, I will use only this lens to take pictures. This normally is not a problem, but I just got a Micro-Nikkor 200mm f4 that I am dying to try and I must resist the temptation :-)
First thing first, pictures that came from this lens is quite acceptable. The most disappointed aspect of the lens is its horrible bokeh. One word to describe it: MESSY. If I have to use another word: Unpleasant. But, the lens is actually quite sharp for a low cost zoom, and when mounted on the Panasonic G1, it's a 46-100mm lens, which is quite ok as a walk-around lens.
