Be very careful when buying this lens. It is as bad as some people say. This copy that I briefly owned had very soft corners, and low contrast at any aperture below F8. I am sure there are good copies out there, but if so many people are complaining about it, I think there is a design problem with this lens. Check it out before buying it. Best to bring your laptop and view the picture at 100% to make sure. This is probably the worse Canon lens that bears the L designation.
LOL! Who knows! But Henry's has a number of used 17-35 f/2.8 on sale in their main store on Church street. Mine should have been long gone by now. I would strongly suggest considering the 17-40 f/4, or a lot more money, the 16-35 f2.8.

thank you for the info about this lens..i am searching for reviews/photos from this lens..there's a used Canon 17-35mm f2.8L that is on sale in Ebay by Henry's.com (Set. 4, 2006 END) for US$770...by reading your experience I wont get the lens anymore..
'hope that's not your lens that was on auction in ebay by Henry's ..LOL
