This portfolio will tell the story of The Gulch Gallery, a 116 year old house in historic McKinney, Texas, that is home to Kiran and Don, a couple of photo nuts who saw this place as a means of creating an environment that would allow each to pursue their own individual photographic interests in an environment that fostered creativity and allowed them to both work and print in the same place. It will be the story of the renovation of this old house, simple in its needs, and yet full of stories. We call the place The Gulch Gallery because one day we hope to actually open a gallery here and use the space to show not only our own work, but to show the work of other emerging artists and cutting edge work from the surrounding colleges as well...We will update the portfolio as we move forward, and although it may not mean much to the average person we hope that in the end maybe you will appreciate the effort that has gone into the restoration of our home...and quite possibly acquire an understanding about what it means to live in an enviroment with people whose lives have been influenced by both the rich photographic history of the past, and new, modern technologies as well...
Interesting gallery. I admire people who have the patience (and skill) for this kind of hard work. I love the nighttime shots taken of the front of the house; the lighting and colors are terrific.
