In the years 1963 to 1968 Gad studied in Paris in the Higher National school of Fine Arts (École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts), under the guidance of the artist Roger Chastel.

Upon his return to Israel, he took part in group exposition - "Automn Parlor" in Helena Rubinstein pavilion in Tel Aviv Museum and in Mali Kahana Gallery in Rothschild Street, Tel Aviv.

In 1971 he set up an individual exhibition in "Dugit" Gallery in Frishman Street, Tel Aviv.

From 1972, Gad stopped painting and began teaching the Transcendental Meditation technique and became the representative of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Israel, by whose guidance the community village "Hararit" was founded in the Galilee.

For 33 years (till 2002), Gad served as the chairman of the International Society of Meditation in Israel.

In 2003 Gad started to draw again and set up few individual exhibitions.

One in 2004 in Haifa in the clinic of Dr. Raul Rodrigez. Another one, named "Childhood Memories", at the end of 2004 in Cultural Hall in Karmiel.

Next was in 2005 - exhibition named "Theatre of Life" in Jerusalem Theatre. In addition he took part in group exposition in "Stern" Gallery in Tel Aviv.

later Gad exhibited in "Yakar" Gallery in Jerusalem and took part in group exposition - "Not a Pet" - in The Yigal Alon Center Art Gallery in Kibbutz Ginosar.

In 2007 Gad had a bypass surgery. He started to draw again slowly, but in a different way.

His illness gave him insights about life, deepened his paintings and his observation about the meaning of life and death.

Following his disease, he paints more slowly, but the subjects of his paintings were changed and the quality of his work improved.

Quoting the curator Sari Levy, at the opening of the exhibition in Cultural Hall in Karmiel in 2004:

"Gad paints intensively on every piece of material he finds - paper, cardboard, plywood
and Wrapping Paper.

In addition he applies mix technique of color, soft pastel, pencils, chalk and ink.

He masters different abilities of artistic expression - drawing, painting indicating
high performance ability and vast knowledge.

Gad enjoys deep knowledge of different techniques together with the spirit of a child who
just now has discovered his drawing abilities, but it is not a naive painting."

His more recent individual exhibitions were in 2011 at The Apter Barrer Arts Center at Ma'alot and in Kayma Gallery in Jaffa.
