Murrelet -- Thanks for the comments. I believe the bird was a migrant -- it was in a very small, isolated thicket very close to the coast and late in the year for this area. Glen

Greetings, Glen! I have been studying yellow-billed Cuckoos in the western US for 19 years. This is a wonderful image of a young cuckoo (less than 2 years old - probably born the previous year). Was the image in typical habitat, or was this a migrant? Thanks for a lovely veiw! Murrelet Halterman
