The UCI Pro Tour circuit stopped again in Montréal city in 2012 for a third year in a row. The course was the same as the other years with the gruelling ascension of Mount Royal on Camilien-Houde Street. The hill is steep (mean of 8%) and long of 1.8 km which the riders have to go through 16 times during the day. A very exhausting experience! This year race was lead by a group of three riders in a breakaway that lasted almost until the end. Finally, serious contenders showed up for the last 2 laps to animate the race and create some action. In the end, the winner was Lars Petter Nordhaug (#46; Sky Procycling; NOR) who came in first in a time of 5h28min:29seconds, two seconds before second place Moreno Moser (#56; Liquigas-Cannondale; ITA) and third place Alexandr Kolobnev (#74; Katusha Team; RUS). I hope you will enjoy the action that I caught on that day.
