UCI World Cup: Protour Montréal 2010

On September 12 2010, Montréal hosted the 16th race of the 2010 UCI ProTour cycling competition calendar. As much as 176 professional cyclists from around the world regrouped in 22 teams participated to the event. The race was held on Mount Royal and consisted of a 12.1 kilometres circuit that cyclists had to ride 16 times for a total distance of 193.6 kilometres. The circuit was marked by two steep hills, Côte Camilien-Houde (1.8km at 8%) and Côte Polytechnique (780m at 6% of which 200m were at 11%), which represented the main difficulties of the race. It was the first time that Montréal hosted an official sanctioned UCI competition and it was a true success by drawing a big crowd on Mount Royal. Let’s hope it will be a success next year also!

Nice Gallery!! I was a cyclist before my automobile accident in 2000 that left me paralyze from the waist down. I loved going out and getting in a 35 to 40 mile rider in 5 days a week. 75 mile ride on Saturday or Sunday. I'd 6 days and rest one day. I really miss it a lot. Thanks for sharing.
