Tour de Beauce 2009: Old Québec Stage

Le Tour de Beauce is an international cycling competition that takes place in the St-Georges-de-Beauce region, located about 100 km south of Québec city. The race consists of 6 stages, which one is taking place in Old Québec. The picturesque environment of Old Québec gives a special touch to this race stage. In 2009, the stage was won by the local racer Charles Dionne in a suspense finish with Ottavio Bougarelli. The overall winner was the American Scott Zwizanski which you can see in the yellow jersey on some of the photos.

Having twice ridden across 250 km of the (probably) original Beauce, the infernal plain to the south of Paris, I looked at this with interest. Much more pleasant than riding on truck-hammered eternally-flat roads into the teeth of the Atlantic wind.

Hi Guy, Great Gallery!!! One thing I miss most of all. I was a cyclist before my automobile accident in 2000 that left me paralyzed from the waist down. I love to hit the hills. Ride today like it's no tomorrow.
