On Saturday, July 19th, 2014 myself and 3 friends took a circle trip that included covering 3 states and 7 different railroad subdivisions. The states were Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Subdivisions were the the UP Greeley, UP Laramie, UP Sidney, BNSF Front Range, BNSF Angora, and BNSF Brush Subs. Total miles were 400+.
We started out by chasing the Cheyenne Frontier Days train to Cheyenne, then heading east to Sidney, NE. From Sidney we went south down through Sterling and Fort Morgan, finally to Tonville, CO where we cut back west and over the the Greeley Sub again just in time to catch the Frontier Days train heading back to Denver.
Weather conditions were hot with mostly clear skies and a few high clouds. High sun and heat distortion weren't our friends on that day, but we all did the best we could. This small gallery contains some of my better photos.
