The Old Rock Mill & Covered Bridge was in my mothers family for many years, up until my 2 Great Aunts (2 sisters living together in the family house there, from birth to death, that never married) died in the late 1970's I think. I remember going there regularly as a kid,up until I was about 16, but visited it many times after that as an adult. Sandy, my sister, and I would play on the "covered bridge" and watch the owls that lived in it. We always got in trouble for playing in the "spring house" and pooring the fresh milk and cream into the running stream that ran through it not to mention breaking the fresh eggs just to watch them "float away". It was so much fun to sit in there on a hot day and dunk our feet into the cold water. The family gatherings there were always special. Most of the farm itself was sold off in the 1980's I think and they built homes or condos on it maybe, I haven't been there since late 1979. I am glad they are working to preserve what is left of the "Old Farm" and it's buildings though.
These are my family members (Ed Alspaugh and W.S. Alspaugh).
