This bridge is of special interest to me, Jerry Dean of Knoxville, Tenn., as it was long a landmark for my father Joseph E. Dean and his kin who settled Greene County from Mt. Sterling Ky., in 1812. The bridge, which I understand is cut off now from its original route, is commemorated on a ceramic plate long in my family. Deans from this area are buried in Dean Cemetery nearby, and the Dean Family Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I am a retired journalist originally from Little Rock, AR.
