I first visited the Grand Prismatic Spring in the afternoon and the conditions were difficult. The wind was very strong and blowing directly from the hot spring toward the boardwalk. When the mist and steam was thick, I held my hand over the lens of the camera, uncovering it just long enough to take a few pictures when there was a break in the mist.
