The D&SNG train is a historic passenger train that runs between Durango and Silverton, CO. It generally follows along the Animas River as it cuts through the southern section of the San Juan mountains, passing through a beautiful gorge on the northern half of its route. It is considered one of the most scenic train rides that one can take in the U.S. This gallery is my collection of photos of this train in its environment. Many of these images were obtained while riding along on the special winter photographer's train. This special trip caters to photographers, allowing them to get off the train at certain points and photograph it as it traverses some of the more scenic sections of railroad. It was quite an interesting and fun experience, for sure.
