I spent the better part of five days in the Moab area to do some winter photography after a January snowstorm had passed through the area. After a white-knuckle drive getting there (near whiteout conditions at times), I arrived to find that the storm cleared, leaving the area with a beautiful winter coat to compliment its renowned red rock landscape. It was jaw droppingly beautiful, that's for sure! And to boot, the chilly temperatures and snow-caked roads made for very little visitor traffic. It seemed at times that I had some locations all to myself!

While most of my time was spent in either Arches or Canyonlands National Parks I also made brief ventures to Dead Horse State Park, the Colorado River Scenic Byway and points south of Moab.
