I have been doing an "Extended Commute" on my motorcycle this week and driving by this old Sporting Goods store in Lee, NH. I seem to remember this place when it was actually in business, though that was many, many years ago (no kidding, huh? Just look at the photo!). Anyway, I've ridden by this numerous times over the years and have always counted on it being here. This stretch of road has basically changed except for this building and the building that stood behind where I was standing to take this photo. This week I realized that the other building is now gone and a new store is going into it's place. With all the recent construction out here, this old sporting goods store is bound to disappear and get replaced with a "Quick Oil Change" establishment. This morning I made a mental note to make sure to capture this building while it still existed. My evening commute looped through the opposite part of the state and came back to within a 1/2 mile of this building. With the skies I had and the feeling of euphoria from getting to put 175 miles onto the bike in 3 1/2 hours of "Commuting" today, decided to pull over and get it captured. I only had the LX3, I might go back with the 40D some evening and poke around some more. This could make a great moonlit photo with some gel-coated strobes adding some mood to it (like in the Lost America Style).
