Day 293 - Tilt
Not much in the way of imagination this evening. I got home pretty late and was able to reuse my setup from last night. I've gotten to the point of leaving my flash on it's stand with the Cybersyncs all set up on flash and camera. After trying unsuccessfully to get my eyes or eye in focus, I gave up. I like this better because it is more reflective of how I feel (OOF).

Day 291 - Shiny Things
Getting hooked on this FGR thing. I had to raid my wife's jewelry drawer though.

Day 287 - Many
The leaves have begun to fall. OK, they've been falling for the past week. We probably have another few weeks before we can start raking. I was going to hit the lawn over the weekend with the lawn mower and remove some of these guys, but it is too late now. We had our first frost last night, the car windows were frosted over. My son & I were discussing this on our way to his school. I saw a freezing warning for the area tonight. Temps are gonna drop into the 20's for the morning. It will be a cold ride in tomorrow, but I'm ready. On my ride home today, I passed some guy on the turnpike with a snow plow. I did a triple-take on that one. I hope he was just bringing it back home from somewhwere and not getting ready for anything!

Day 286 - Games
Long day. I actually worked from home, was here all day and never got a chance to pick up the camera. That is usually the case, I am normally much more productive working from home as I can limit my distractions (this is true during the work week provided the kids are in school). Anyway, this evening my oldest is at Marching Band Practice and the younger ones are home with me. My daughter broke out this game "Katamino" which is pretty fun. It can be a single player or a two player game. There is a little separator bar that you put in the middle then you divvy up the pieces and try to solve your side of the puzzle. My daughter beat me every time.

Day 285 - Workspace
It's all about workspace. I opted to not go with the '79 Beemer from yesterday's PaD. I have too many other projects that haven't been finished. I can kick myself in the head later this winter when I am caught up and need another project ;-)
Earlier this year, I had our back door in our garage moved over a couple of feet. You can kind of see where it was and where it is now. The foundation wall was filled in and has done a wonderful job of preventing water from flowing in. We used to get a steady stream of water from the back door, the front door, and the garage door all throughout the garage when it rained (and it rains here). I've given it a good 6 months to be sure that we are dry and will remain so. I made two trips today, one to pick up the Craftsman Rolling Tool Chest (the stickers are mine) from Craigslist and the other to Home Depot to get some R-19 Insulation and some Sheetrock to begin the buttoning up phase of the garage work. I bought just enough to finish off this little nook. This is going to be my motorcycle working area, there is just enough space for the bike, Tool Chest, and some shelves. I intend to spend some time out here this winter working on the bike since the garage will finally be insulated.

Day 284 - Decisions Decisions
This is a 1979 BMW R65 that I looked at today. I'm in the market for a second bike, most likely a project bike. I would label this as a "Project Bike". I'm the 'No' side of the fence right now. It would be a lot of work just to get this bike home, it doesn't run right now which means trailering it and hefting it around. The R65 is also kind of a "Black Sheep" in Beemer land, I'd run the risk of having to put more into it than it would be worth. Would be fun though.

Day 283 - Empty
My kids asked about this building today while were riding around running errands. It used to be a grocery store many, many years ago. I remember going in for some things way back when, it was run down then. That had to be in the 80's. After the area was basically reconstructed, it went out of business and became a restaurant. I believe the restaurant went out of business another took its place before going out of business and then basically remaining empty ever since. I am thinking this building has been empty for at least ten years, possibly longer. I can't imagine anything every occupying this building, it would probably cost too much to renovate. I imagine this building will be destroyed and something will go in its place eventually. Perhaps when the economy turns around.

Day 282 - My Shoes
This sure isn't the shot I had in mind, but after two different attempts, I gave up. My wife leaves on a trip tomorrow morning (4am) and the suitcase was out, all packed and ready to go. It was sitting up against the wall and looked interesting. I actually moved some stuff out of the way, cleaned the floor (the first shots revealed a large concentration of dust-bunnies) and moved my flash around, but it wasn't going to happen. This was a last minute idea, the floor was relatively clean and my shoes were nearby. A little over-processing in LR and I have something interesting. These are LL Bean Gore-Tex hikers. I only wear LL Bean boots/shoes, they stand behind what they sell, and they are pretty much local for us. These guys are about 9 months old, they look a little under the weather, part of that is the post processing, part of it is the shoes. So enough about my shoes.
