Ok, so I take my D800 on a trip with me, but leave behind my longer telephoto lens because I don't expect to use it. Well, I end up going to the races and all I have is the "walk around" 24-120 F4 lens. It's hot. Very hot, and I climb to the furthest back highest seats in the stands hoping to get a breeze on this 100+ degree day. Well... the resolution of this camera makes it almost a non issue. With 36 megapixels, you can crop very deep into the original image and come up with AMAZING results.

It dawned on me that I really didn't have the best setup dialed in. I had aperture priority set at F4 to keep the shutter fast, but there was so much light, I didn't need to. Had I gone smaller with the aperture, lens performance would have picked up a bit and produced even sharper results.
