Remembrance Day Colchester 2014

Remembrance Day held this year on the 9 November 2014. Also marked the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War 1
A parade of Veteran Service men and women, as well as Civil Organisations and Pre Service Youth Corps, Paraded in the Colchester High Street, to march to the War Memorial for a Service of Remembrance.
The parade was lead by the Band of The Parachute Regiment. Followed by the Standard Bearers of the British Legion and other Associations.
Every person proudly wearing a Poppy as a sign of remembering the comrades fallen in Two World Wars and the Conflicts since.

The Mayor of Colchester, Council Members and Alderman were also in attendance.The Mayor of Colchester, Councillor John Elliot, said,
“Colchester has an extensive military history and it is extremely important for us to join together and pay our respects to members of the British Armed Forces on this significant and poignant day."
