St Martin's Church Colchester

This 14/15th century church is the Parish church of St Martin's. It has a 12th century tower which was severely damaged during the English Civil War siege of Colchester in the 17th century. There is a remarkable 14th century carving in the Chancel roof.

Lovely detail in the flintwork and well composed. A part of a building is often better than looking at the whole. Sepia treatment and border complement the subject ~v~
