Switching ON Colchester Christmas Lights

Colchester schoolgirl Violet Wilson won the honour of switching on Colchester town centre’s Christmas lights.
And she could not have been more pleased.
Violet, who is six, and goes to Montgomery Infants School, Colchester, earnt the prize after entering a competition organised by Colchester Retail/Business Association and Garrison Radio.

She had to say why she would like to be mayor.
The answer, to Violet, was obvious. She responded: “So I can eat sweets and stop thieves.”

So accompanying Colchester Mayor Helen Chuah, Violet did the official lights switch on

Way to go Violet!
Ken I don't know of any Amish or Mennonites with cameras. One of the Mennonite farmers told me during a discussion we had recently that if he had a camera he would take photos of the landscape. That prompted me to put together an album of local landscapes to show him. Looking forward to his reactions and comments.
