Canon v Tamron Lens on Test

These pictures were shot with a Canon Lens 70 -200mm EF 1:2.8 L IS USM
Canon EF 17-40mm 1:4 L USM
and a Tamron XR Di II LD (IF)18-200 1`: 3.6 - 6.3 Macro
The pictures were taken at the same location on the same day. But in a time /light span of two hours. The Tamron lens is much easier to carry, but am I compromising quality for the convenience of a light weight lens? Digital Photography & Artwork

Ken, another great gallery! As for the different lenses, I'm a novice where cameras are concerned, but I really don't see a difference among photos from the Tamron and the Canon 200mm lenses. They all have crisp edges, fine detail and depth of colour, even in the water reflections. Displayed all together like this, however, there is a noticeable difference in the photos taken by the Canon 40mm. Very helpful for those of us interested in learning photography. Keep up the great work!
