Day of Action


THOUSANDS of public sector staff including teachers launched a 24-hour strike over proposed changes to their pensions.

They formed picket lines at Colchester Sixth Form College, Colchester Institute and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs offices in Headgate ahead of a luchtime protest outside the town hall.

Most schools across the region are either closed or are only teaching certain year groups.
