I find this to be very interesting...most people think that it is terrible to take pictures of the loved one when they have passed but I dont I took a picture of my aunt at her funeral and I am glad I did..keep up the great work!

Your collection is outstanding! I am fascinated by these types of things as well. I love to see the social elements as well as the customs these pictures illustrate. It is history, it is love, it is a family's bond and loyalty to each other. Without these pictures these people would be lost to time and history. I feel honored to see these photos. I feel like I am respecting the deceased and their loved ones, keeping their memories and love for each other alive. I lost my dad and brother recently and sometimes I feel almost panicked that they will be forgotten. I go overboard sometimes telling stories of them to others. They were such wonderful men and it saddens me that they may get lost in time, that there may come a time in the future when all the people that knew them will be gone as well and they will mean nothing to any living being. I guess we are possibly all doomed to that fate. Thank you so much for sharing your collection. You are not weird or crazy and you most definitely are not alone.
