Crescent Mountain is part of the "Old Cascades", in the Willamette National Forest south of Detroit, Oregon. Its summer wildflower displays are well worth the climb... I have never seen so much beargrass (Xerophyllum tenax) in one place!
On clear days, you will also get spectacular views of the Oregon Cascades from Mount Hood to the north down to Diamond Peak to the south. The views of Mount Jefferson and Three-Fingered Jack are particularly impressive.
