This follows the previous crossing the road image.

Just after the group had cleared the road a car came by in the opposite direction.
I could see the hen looking around, so I drove up and parked next to the ditch as protection.
The chicks had hidden in the grass, a couple still on the road side of the fence.
She walked around finding each on with soft calls. Once they were all moving with
her she headed straight away and the chicks all fell in line again.
Because of the deep grass and forbs this was the only picture that showed a chick clearly.
These were clearly smaller than the ones pictured from last year.
