We occasionally get F-16's and other fixed wing, plus Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters passing on what appear to be navigation training. Usually one pass only.

This F-16 appeared while I happened to be out with the camera, and made low several passes on what appeared to be practice ground attack runs. These were all taken from the ground. He was probably using a decommissioned county church or our neighbors well house as a target (Both over a rise from where I was standing). He would pull up then turn around a radio tower sometimes returning high and sometimes low. He would disappear over the ridge in the opposite direction, then retun low from various directions. The closest passes came when I was still in the trees so those images were mostly tailpipe. I moved to the open and swapped on a longer lens and was able to pick him up on approach for more images.

I have since learned that this was the last tail number in the Block 60 F-16E series, built only for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The F16 final assembly plant is Fort Worth about 80 miles NE of here, and he departed roughly in that direction, so perhaps this was a check flight.

I also was told that a number of the aircraft are based at Holloman AFB, NM which is about 600 miles west.
