Rare to Uncommon winter visitor, October through January, primarily in Lowlands region. Rare visitor at any time of year, primarily in Lowlands and Desert regions. Rare local resident in Lowlands region.
Habitat: Desert riparian, golf courses.
Best locations: Bonsall.
Note: Recent breeding in Bonsall, Jacumba, San Diego NWR, Escondido; perhaps now only nesting in San Luis Rey Downs Golf Club at Bonsall.
