Probably Rare fall visitor, July through October, in Offshore region.
eBird records since 2010: Two birds August 23, 2015, two birds September 27, 2015, both in San Diego Trough about 25-30 miles west of Point La Jolla.
Habitat: Open ocean far offshore.
Best locations: San Diego pelagic trip.
Note: This is a newly recognized species, officially split from Leach's Storm-Petrel in July 2016, so few records yet, though thought to occur regularly.
